On March 9, 2012, Quest Software Inc said it is negotiating a possible acquisition by private equity firm Insight Venture Partners in a nearly $2 billion deal.[3] After a bidding war, the price went up to $2.17 billion, and Vector Capital joined Insight in the ownership group. Dell Computers is also bidding in the acquisition negotiations.
